Lorna Saunders is the owner of Positive Steps Physiotherapy and has almost 30 years of experience working across both the NHS and independent practice.
As a passionate and dedicated Neurological and Paediatric Physiotherapist, Lorna is committed to helping both children and adults receive the best possible care. She takes time to truly understand not just the physical challenges a person may face, but how these difficulties impact day-to-day life, confidence, independence, and the ability to do the things they enjoy most. Her goal is always to help people gain the freedom to move better and do what they love doing.
Lorna graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University in 1997 with a BSc (Hons) Degree in Physiotherapy and is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
With a positive and practical approach, Lorna always looks at what can be done and works creatively to find the best possible way forward for each individual and family she supports. She believes every client deserves to feel valued, listened to, and fully supported throughout their journey, and she places huge importance on building strong relationships with families, carers, schools, and wider multidisciplinary teams to achieve the very best outcomes.
Outside of work, Lorna is first and foremost a proud mum to two teenage boys, who definitely keep life busy and entertaining! She is also a Guide Leader, recently receiving her 30 year service award, this is something she really enjoys as it allows her to support young people in building confidence, independence, and resilience.
When she’s not working, Lorna loves getting outdoors for long walks — her go-to way to keep fit and stay sane! She is an avid audiobook listener, always has something playing in the background, and has recently started yoga, which she is enjoying (with varying levels of flexibility and success!).
Lorna is passionate about creating a service where people feel supported, cared for, and empowered — helping children, adults, and families take positive steps forward, whatever that may look like for them.
