The Working Wonders of Dynamic Movement Skills!

pexelsdominikaroseclay2682543

Dynamic Movement Skills (DMS) has been a valuable and popular tool that we have used over the years with a wide range of our clients.

DMS is a training methodology that supports and encourages coordination, motor skills, agility and speed. DMS came into its own particularly during and following the Pandemic as many children began to suffer with low-level pain and discomfort from a lack of freedom to exercise and practice their motor skills naturally; as they would do in the playground or during school sports.

DMS has helped many children and adults to regain coordination, reduce aches and pains and simply feel more in control of how they move their body.

As a team, we have been delighted to use DMS to support our clients and help them to move better. It really is rewarding to see faces light up as movement becomes easier, more comfortable and enjoyable once again.

Recently, Lorna treated a young boy with leg pain which had stopped him from enjoying PE or walking very far at all. Here is what his Mum had to say after following Lorna's advice and making use of the DMS methodology with her Son.

"We went to Northumberland and did loads of walking. He had no problems. He has been at the park running round, playing Cricket and no issues.

He also, and I am so proud of him for doing it, walked Snowdon with me for charity. Café was shut and trains weren't running as it was a weather warning with high winds and rain, it was a crawl to the Summit save being blown off, but he did it!!

Had him doing his exercises for the next few days due to obvious leg ache but came through it no issues

Thank you for all of your help and advice – its done wonders for him."

This fantastic young boy has managed to raise much needed funds and awareness for the charities 'Cheshire East Hospice' and 'Pancreatic Cancer' as his Mum sadly lost a much loved work-colleague to Pancreatic Cancer earlier this year.

As a team, we love to hear success stories like these. If you would like support for yourself or a loved one with movement and coordination, please feel free to contact us.

We are well-versed in common causes of discomfort and pain when moving. Take the time for a  FREE Initial call  with us and see if we can help you.

Although Physio is very tiring I do feel a lot better afterwards and it helps to have a Physio that I can have a laugh with and that I can talk to. I feel it is very beneficial.
